Principal's Message

Amy J. WilliamsDear Cool Spring Families,

Welcome to Cool Spring Elementary, a great place to learn and have fun! I am excited to begin my second year as the principal at Cool Spring. This is my seventeenth year in education and my twelfth year as a school administrator. I was fortunate to join the Cool Spring family first as a parent, prior to becoming the principal. I am the mom of a kindergartener and third grader at Cool Spring, and we are fortunate to have the best staff around!

Our theme this year is “We’ll Be There for You”, and this theme captures the emphasis on relationships and community at our school. While the 2020–2021 school year looks different for all of our students and families, no matter if you are learning face-to-face or online, one thing remains the same, and that is our commitment to our students, families, and staff. Our dedicated and talented staff will be here for each of our students to meet them where they are and provide them with the tools, resources, and support they need to maximize their potential. We continue to partner with our PTA to support our school goals and to engage our families in their child’s education. Along with our focus on relationships, we are excited to fully implement morning meetings in each of our classrooms this year. Morning meetings are an engaging way to begin each school day, build a strong sense of community, and set children up for success academically and socially.

Our new mission and vision statements speak to what we value most at Cool Spring. We educate and inspire a community of diverse, lifelong learners. Through engaging and relevant learning, we inspire our students to be lifelong learners. We teach them not only the content needed to be successful in the classroom, but also life skills such as communication, collaboration, and critical thinking that will serve them in our community and in life for years to come. Our vision emphasizes empowering our students to be confident, compassionate, and engaged. Our students will be confident and persevere through challenges, compassionate citizens who have strong social emotional skills and demonstrate empathy and inclusion, and engaged learners who understand how to communicate their thoughts and think critically about complex issues.

Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s educational journey. We look forward to a great year!

Fondly,

Amy J. Williams
