Our School

Cool Spring Elementary School buildingWelcome to Cool Spring Elementary School! We are located in central Hanover County on the same campus as Chickahominy Middle School and Atlee High School. We serve about 700 students in kindergarten through fifth grade and are the proud home of the Dolphins.

Our goal is to provide quality instruction in a welcoming environment where every child experiences success and builds a base for future personal and academic achievement. We utilize a variety of strategies that emphasize basic skills, encourage independent and critical thinking, and promote self-discipline.Our programs are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as well as the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Cool Spring is thankful for an active community of volunteers. We had 882 volunteers provide support last year which included 3,679 volunteer hours or 5.6 hours per student at our school. We are also proud of our enriching library that holds 20.9 books per student at our school.
